St. Peter and Paul

St. Peter and Paul is a Catholic parish church in the Trudering district of Munich .

history

The church replaced the approx. 600 year old village church, which was demolished in 1935 except for the tower. The new church was designed by the architect Hans Döllgast and was consecrated by Cardinal Faulhaber in 1936 . After a renovation, the altar was consecrated on November 30, 1978 by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger , who later became Pope Benedict XVI. A plaque with the papal coat of arms below the choir organ commemorates this consecration.

With a decree on September 14, 2009, the parish boundaries to the neighboring parish of St. Augustine were reorganized with effect from October 1, 2009. St. Peter and Paul has a branch church, St. Martin in Riem, and has formed the parish association Vier Heilige Trudering Riem with St. Florian in the trade fair city since 2018.
