description

Altar and pulpit

The hall church made of quarry stones was built according to the inscription in 1587. The three-story church tower in the west has a pointed helmet . The second floor , on which the belfry is located, was renewed in 1958. The entrance to the tower is a Romanesque arched portal from the time it was built. The northern tower porch was added in 1868. In the years 1971–73 extensive renovations took place, whereby the galleries were reduced to two sides. The nave is covered with a wooden barrel vault. The tower wall in the west was built over a high round arch.

The Schuster organ from 1973

The altar retable with columns wrapped in vine leaves comes from the bridge monastery in Mühlhausen, which was demolished in 1884 . It stood in the village church of St. Maria-Magdalena von Hollenbach until 1972 . The central panel shows a crucifixion group of many figures by Martin Luder from Nordhausen, signed with the year 1601. Among others, Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon are under the cross.

The baptismal font , decorated with angel heads, dates from the 17th century. The pulpit with carved acanthus ornaments was built in the middle of the 18th century.

The organ with 7 registers, divided into a manual and a pedal, was built in 1973 by Orgelbau A. Schuster & Sohn .
