The St. Therese of Child Jesus is a ferry of the Philippine shipping company Negros Navigation.

history

The ship was as New Orion under the hull number 332 on the shipyard Onomichi Zosen KK in Japanese Onomichi built and delivered on 11 March 1989 to the client. The ship now started traffic between Osaka and Shin Moji. In 1992 the ship was renamed Ferry Fufuoka . In October 2002 the ship was renamed Superferry 16 and operated by 2Go Group Inc in the Philippines . In May 2005 the ship was sold to CMM Maritime SA in Panama and renamed New Qingdao .

The ship has been used since March 2013 by Stena Daea Line, in which Stena Line held a 90 percent stake and the Daea Group held a 10 percent stake, between the South Korean port of Sokcho and the Russian ports of Vladivostok and Zarubino . Both Russian ports were called once a week.

The ship has been operating for the Filipino shipping company Negros Navigation since 2016, which uses it in scheduled services on the Manila - Bacolod City - Iloilo City - Cagayan de Oro route .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by two eight - cylinder four - stroke diesel engines made by Pielstick-Kawasaki (type: 8PC40L). The motors each have an output of 9702  kW . The ship thus reaches a top speed of 22.9  knots .

Four generators with a total of 1,100  kVA apparent power are available for the power supply .

The ship had 1,450 gauge meters for rolling loads. It could carry 750 passengers. The ship was converted for use in Philippine waters. It is now licensed for 1,856 passengers. The ship can also load 200 20-foot containers .
