Stand Up Stacy is a German pop-punk band from Munich , which was founded in 2012 by singer Uwe Kriegbaum under the name The Sexattacks in Penzberg . At the beginning of 2019, the band parted with the name, which was perceived as offensive, and based the new name on the advertising figure “Stand-Up Stacey” of the Land Transport Authority in Singapore. On April 17, 2020, the band released their debut album The Magnificent You with 11 tracks and gained notoriety beyond the German-speaking area. The band's trademark is their outfit, which consists of a white shirt, black pants, suspenders and a black bow tie .

In the same year work began on the third EP Secrets , which was recorded at Platon Studios by Daniel Jocher, who eventually replaced founding member David Hennen on guitar. The reason for this was the professional development of David Hennen, who from then on still frequently contributed to the creation of the music videos, but no longer in front of the camera, but behind it in his role as director and cameraman, which he made his profession with his company Two-Stopover.

2018

The tour of Germany planned for autumn 2020 has been postponed indefinitely due to the global Covid-19 pandemic . Instead, the band made an effort to participate in streaming events and released several videos of acoustic versions of their songs under the title Sta (c) y At Home . The four members played their respective instruments from home and showed that the band continued to work on their music despite the exit restrictions imposed at that time in Munich.
