Standard Bank Triangular Tournament 2001/02

The Standard Bank Triangular Tournament 2001/02 was a three-nation tournament that was held from October 6th to 26th, 2001 in South Africa in one-day cricket . In the tournament belonging to the 2001/02 international cricket season, teams from India and Kenya took part alongside the host . In the final, South Africa prevailed against India with 6 wickets.

prehistory

South Africa previously played a tour in Zimbabwe . It was the first tour of the season for India and Kenya. Subsequently, South Africa and India contested a series of tests .

format

In a preliminary round, each team played against each other once. There were four points for a win, two points for a draw or no result. Bonus points were also awarded. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
