Stand rule Königsbrück

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rulership of Königsbrück was the fourth free rulership of Upper Lusatia . It existed with different rights from 1562 to 1920. The Lords of Königsbrück resided in Königsbrück Castle , which is not far from the main church in Königsbrück .

Beginning and end

From 1439 to 1579 Königsbrück was owned by the Burgraves of Dohna . After his death in 1560, Christoph von Dohna did not leave any descendants entitled to inherit. His goods therefore fell back to the sovereigns of Upper Lusatia as settled fiefdoms . In a sales and loan letter from Emperor Ferdinand I for Caspar Burggraf von Dohna on Straupitz , Königsbrück was recognized as a class lordship in 1562. In 1671, Elector Johann Georg II. Changed the rule of Königsbrück and the attached Cosel manor into an allod .

Under Sigismund Ehrenreich Johann von Redern around 1775, Brauna with the Vorwerk Schwosdorf , Großgrabe , Bulleritz , Petershain and Räckelwitz came to rule. In 1790, the estates were divided among the three children of Rederns by an inheritance contract: the eldest son Wilhelm Jacob (1750–1816) received the manor Cosel, the youngest son Sigismund Ehrenreich Johann (1763–1841) kept Königsbrück and the daughter Sophia Charlotte Eleonore ( 1765–1842) received Brauna and in the same year married the widower Friedrich Leopold zu Stolberg-Stolberg (1750–1819). All three children were not very interested in the properties in Upper Lusatia and sold their shares on in the next few years. Only Cajus zu Stolberg-Stolberg , one of Sophia's sons, later went to Brauna and started a family there. Among the von Hohenthal family, the Glauschnitz manor with Bohra (now the desert ) also belonged to the estate. In 1847 the following places belonged to the class rule: Gottschdorf , Neukirch , Stenz , Weißbach , Zeisholz , parts of Schmorkau as well as today's desert areas Otterschütz , Quosdorf , Rohna , Rittergut Steinborn and Zietsch on the site of the former military training area Königsbrück .

According to the constitution of the Kingdom of Saxony from 1831, the landlord of Königsbrück was still a member of the First Chamber of the Estates Assembly . In 1848 Peter Alfred Graf von Hohenthal ceded jurisdiction to the state. With the constitution of the Free State of Saxony , which was adopted in 1920, all special public rights of the Upper Lusatian estates were finally repealed.
