Staré Podhradí , until 1948 Starý Kaltštejn (German Alt-Kaltenstein ), is a basic settlement unit of the municipality of Černá Voda in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers southeast of Žulová and belongs to the Okres Jeseník .

geography

The scattered settlement extends between the brooks Mariánský potok and Hagewasser in the Žulovská pahorkatina ( Friedeberger hill country ). To the northeast rises the Hradisko (437 m nm) with the castle ruins Kaltenštejn , in the southeast of the Jestřábí vrch ( Habichtberg , 507 m nm), south of the Sokolí vrch ( Falkenberg , 967 m nm), the Studniční vrch ( Nesselkoppe , 992 m nm) , the Na Radosti ( Bornstein , 979 m nm) and the Jasanový vrch ( Urlichkoppe , 799 m nm), in the southwest of the Žulový vrch ( Brandkoppe , 719 m nm) and the Zelená hora ( Grünberg , 654 m nm), to the west of the Vycpálek ( Haspelberg , 500 m nm) and in the northwest the Píšťala ( Pfeifferstein , 447 m nm)

history

The Kaldenstein settlement was founded at the end of the 18th century by Prince-Bishop Philipp Gotthard von Schaffgotsch and named after the castle ruins of the same name . It was first mentioned in 1781. Kaldenstein was part of the Friedeberger office of the prince-bishop's Johannisberg estates. After Neu Kaldenstein was founded , the older settlement was given the suffix "Alt".

In 1836 the village of Alt-Kaldenstein consisted of 45 predominantly wooden houses, in which 279 German-speaking people lived. The main sources of income were agriculture, spinning and daily wages. In the place there was a Kretscham with baking justice and a grinding mill. Lime quarries and lime kilns were operated in the vicinity of the village. The parish and school location was Schwarzwasser . Until the middle of the 19th century, Alt-Kaldenstein remained subject to the diocese of Breslau.

After the abolition of patrimonial made Alt-cold stone in 1849 a district of the municipality black water in the judicial district Weidenau , some of the houses stood on setting Strand district. From 1869 the village belonged to the Freiwaldau district. Since the 1870s, the mining and processing of Friedeberger granite and marble has made the region a center of stone processing. At the end of the 19th century, the Czech place name Starý Kaltštein was introduced, which was changed in 1924 to Starý Kaltštejn . In 1900 Altkaltenstein had 285 inhabitants and consisted of 45 houses. At that time, a distinction was made between Altkaltenstein 1st part and Altkaltenstein 2nd part , the 2nd part was made up of the houses belonging to the municipality of Setzdorf. In the 1921 census, the 45 houses in Alt-Kaltenstein 1. Percentage 269 ​​people, including 268 Germans. The group of houses Alt-Kaltenstein 2nd share was included in Setzdorf. In 1930 Alt-Kaltenstein had 1. The population was 228; in the five houses of Alt-Kaltenstein 2. 45 people lived. After the Munich Agreement , the village was assigned to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Freiwaldau district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War Starý Kaltštejn came back to Czechoslovakia; most of the German-speaking residents were expelled in 1945/46 . Some of the houses were later demolished. In 1948 the name was changed to Staré Podhradí.

During the territorial reform of 1960 the Okres Jeseník was abolished and Staré Podhradí was incorporated into the Okres Šumperk . In 1961 Staré Podhradí lost the status of a district of Černá Voda . Since 1996 Staré Podhradí has ​​been part of the Okres Jeseník again. At the 2001 census there were 22 people living in the village.

The basic settlement unit Staré Podhradí is part of the cadastral district of Černá Voda. A house on the southern outskirts belongs to the municipality of Vápenná .
