Steeg is a district of Neustadt (Wied) ( Verbandsgemeinde Asbach ) in the Neuwied district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
Until January 1, 1969, Steeg belonged to the then disbanded municipality of Elsrachthal . Steeg is closely connected with the neighboring Wiedmühle , which is traversed by the Wied and its tributary Pfaffenbach . The place is 5 kilometers from the border with North Rhine-Westphalia .
geography
Steeg is 2 km west of the capital Neustadt and directly on the A3 . Motorway junctions nearby are Neustadt (Wied) (towards Frankfurt am Main ) and Bad Honnef / Linz (towards Cologne ).
The surrounding cities of Linz am Rhein (10 km), Bad Honnef (13 km), Bad Hönningen (13 km), the district town of Neuwied (20 km) and Bonn (25 km), both as the crow flies to the center, are easily accessible from Steeg .
Transport and infrastructure
In addition to the A3, the high-speed line Cologne – Rhine / Main operated by Deutsche Bahn passes Steeg, as does the 110 kV traction power system Orscheid - Montabaur .
