Stefan Kiefer

Stefan Kiefer (born November 17, 1965 in Bad Kreuznach ; † October 27, 2017 in Sepang , Malaysia ) was a German motorcycle racer as well as team boss and co-owner of the Kiefer Racing team .

Life

Stefan Kiefer came from Bad Kreuznach and was active in motorcycle racing between 1989 and 1994. With his brother Jochen Kiefer he ran a motorcycle business in Idar-Oberstein. In 1998 he founded the team Kiefer Racing, together with his brother in 2003 in the Motorcycle World Championship got in. Stefan Kiefer was the full-time team boss of the racing team from 2011, who won two drivers' world championship titles in 2011 with Stefan Bradl ( Moto2 ) and in 2015 with Danny Kent ( Moto3 ) .

Kiefer had a son and lived with his partner in Wilthen . He was found dead in a hotel room in Sepang by his brother, with whom he shared a room, in October 2017 during the penultimate round of the motorcycle world championship in Malaysia . The later autopsy revealed that Kiefer had died as a result of a heart attack , the family announced in November 2017.
