Stefan Siczek

Stefan Siczek (born September 20, 1937 in Siczki ; † July 31, 2012 in Radom ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and canon lawyer and auxiliary bishop in Radom .

Life

Stefan Siczek attended the Small Missionary Seminar in Krakow . After graduating from the Lyceum in Radom , he entered the seminary in Sandomierz in 1955 and completed his theological and philosophical training. The Bishop of Sandomierz , Jan Kanty Lorek CM , ordained him priestly on May 27, 1961 in Sandomierz . From 1961 to 1963 he was chaplain in St. Paul in Sandomierz and from 1963 completed a doctoral degree in canon law at the Catholic University of Lublin and received his doctorate in law (iur. Can.) In 1967 . He was chaplain in Sucha (1967/69) and in Ćmielów (1969/72).

In 1973 he completed postgraduate studies in Warsaw. From 1972 to 1986 he was a lecturer and spiritual director in the seminary in Sandomierz. From 1986 to 1992 he was a chaplain at the General Assembly House of the Virgin Mary Maids in Mariówka . He also worked as a lecturer at the Radom Seminary and at the Institute of Theology at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on March 25, 1992 titular bishop of Dagnum and auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Radom . The Archbishop of Warsaw , Józef Cardinal Glemp , donated him episcopal ordination on April 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Stanisław Nowak , Archbishop of Częstochowa , and Edward Henryk Materski , Bishop of Radom. His motto is Vivere Evangelio (Live according to the Gospel).

He was vicar general and dean of the chapter of the pilgrimage church of Our Lady of Ostra Brama in Skarżysko-Kamienna (Sanctuary Matki Bożej Ostrobramskiej w Skarżysku-Kamiennej).

After the death of Bishop Jan Chrapek on October 18, 2001, he was appointed diocesan administrator. This office was reassigned to him after Bishop Zygmunt Zimowski was appointed President of the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care on April 18, 2009 .

In 2011 he was made an honorary citizen of his home community Jedlnia-Letnisko .
