Stefano Pescosolido (born June 13, 1971 in Sora , Latium ) is a former Italian tennis player .

Life

Pescosolido won two individual titles on the ATP World Tour . In 1992 he won Scottsdale , in that year he also reached position 42, his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings . At the Wimbledon Championships in 1992 he met defending champion Michael Stich in the first round , against whom he clearly lost 3: 6, 3: 6, 2: 6. In 1993 he won the tournament in Tel Aviv . He was unable to book any further individual finals. Together with Laurence Tieleman , he won the double title at the 1998 tournament in Tashkent .

Pescosolido played for the Italian Davis Cup team between 1992 and 1999 . He had five wins out of five defeats. He was used five times in singles and five times in doubles. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , he played for Italy, but was eliminated in the first round against Fernando Meligeni .
