Stephan Kayser
Stephan Kayser (born July 21, 1948 in Munich ) is a German actor , voice actor , director , film and music producer .
Life
Kayser came to film early through his filmmaker mother Vera Kayser (1920–1960), a daughter of actor Charles Willy Kayser (1881–1942). At the age of six he played as a child actor in the Erich Kästner film Three Men in the Snow (director: Kurt Hoffmann ). Two years later he worked alongside Marcello Mastroianni and Mario Adorf in the feature film “La Ragazza della Salina” (director: Franz Cap), (German distribution title “Girls and Men” or “Hard Men, Hot Love”).
In 1960 he was hired for the title role of Kai aus der Kiste , a Wolf-Durian film adaptation of the SDR (director: Theo Mezger ). As a voice actor, he spoke for television series, including Die Kinder von Bullerbü , Lassie , Flipper and in feature films such as Mamma Roma by Pier Paolo Pasolini and Junge Aphroditen . As an actor, he took on roles in the television series Familie Hansen , Fernfahrer , Die Kramer and Die Hupe as well as in the television games Leuchtfeuer , Apostel unter dem Dach and Monsieur Gringo . From 1968 to 1974 he also worked as a film and music critic in the features section of the Munich tabloid tz and as a guest author for Münchner Merkur and other cultural magazines such as “Lektüre”.
From 1969 onwards, Kayser made a number of short films with his own film production. His first short film Vampire sind Menschen received the audience award at the West German Short Film Festival in Oberhausen in 1970 . The short film 1972 - Olympic Impressions was made during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich and was selected as the official German entry for an Oscar nomination in the Short Movies category (1973). Kayser was also the producer and director of a documentary entitled The Police in the Sign of the Five Rings (1972) about the security concept of the 1972 Olympic Games and the terrorist attack on the Israeli team in the Olympic Village. For the films The Tunnel (based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's story) and The Representative , there was collaboration with the writer Martin Sperr ( hunting scenes in Lower Bavaria ) as an actor in 1976/1978 . Kayser has received several short film awards from the Main Association of German Film Theaters (HdF), e. B. for Winterreise , Not only about the issue of the severely disabled and Hugo was here with Jürgen Flimm in the lead role.
His first feature film, Magma - Journey from Here to There , was made between 1977 and 1981 , to which the Swiss writer Max Frisch participated and which is dedicated to him. In 1978 he published stories under the title Where This Land Is . This was followed by a position as a dialogue book writer for the TV entertainment programs Fathers of Clothes and Fun with Charlie (Chaplin) (ZDF) and as a director of industrial and commercials. In connection with directing a historical film portrait of Jakob Lorber (1800–1864) he discovered the Paganini student Jakob Lorber as a forgotten composer of the Romantic period through extensive research in Graz (Austria) . Kayser then founded a music production company with its own label (K-Classic) and published Lorber's compositions on CD for the first time and had his chamber music works performed in concerts for the first time in more than 150 years. Later came the compositional work of the pianist and organist Oliver Amadeus Kayser (* 1977) and other contemporary composers such as Kurt Brüggemann (1908–2002), Peter Schammberger (organist at the St. Lukas (Munich) St. Lukas Church in Munich ) and Peter Schöbach added. In co-production with Deutschlandfunk Kultur , a CD recording with the Korean pianist Hee-Sook Ahn was made. In recent years, Kayser has dealt with long-term film projects. In September 2012 he was the initiator and overall designer of the documentary film commemorative event Terror in the Ideal World - 40 years after the 1972 Olympic attack with only his own historical film material in the Fürstenfeldbruck event center, in collaboration with the Fürstenfeldbruck Historical Association .
