References to the debut album
At the time of publication , the band Concrete Blonde was disbanded. The rare pieces collected here are a kind of supplementary delivery to complete the entire oeuvre, the first milestone of which is the self-titled debut . There's a song from it, Still in Hollywood . The lyrically modified version It'll Chew You Up and Spit You Out opens the compilation. The cover photo of Concrete Blonde can be found in the middle of the booklet . It shows the band posing at an intersection in Hollywood . The Hollywood subject was chosen as the concept: street sign , neon advertising , homeless people and the corresponding poverty - indicators such as discount stores and car wrecks . In addition, the typography of the band logo , which consists of dirty typewriters, is based on that of the debut.
