He was seriously injured due to the insufficient height of the jump and died a little later. In 2010 the name Ludger-Hölker-Volksschule Straßberg (elementary school) was given to the school in Straßberg.

Castle: School and boarding school

In 1959, Alfred Ankele opened a boarding school with a secondary school in Straßberg Castle. About 80 students were housed there. In the fall of 1960, Ankele settled in what was then still known as the Eastern Zone. Some teachers tried to keep the school and boarding school going, but failed for financial reasons. Many parents had picked up their children in response to the scandal, which was described in detail in the local press. It is interesting that a student council was founded in connection with the teachers' protest in 1960. That should also have been the first school strike in the post-war era. The castle was administered by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, until 2008 the castle was a training site, in 2010 it was renovated and converted into condominiums.
