The Struth is a district of the municipality Flieden in the south of the East Hessian district of Fulda .

The scattered settlement Struth is located on the Hessian ridge , the connecting ridge between the Rhön and Vogelsberg . The place does not have its own district . In the north it borders on Döngesmühle , in the east on Flieden, in the south on Höf and Haid and in the north-west on Magdlos .

In 1959, the Saudi heir to the throne and later King Faisal ibn Abd al-Aziz stayed briefly in town. He had stayed in Bad Nauheim for a cure . Since he was interested in harvesting machines, but the fields there had already been harvested, he traveled to the Struth.

Until 1972 the Struth was a district of Flieden. Only since 2001 has the place had a separate local advisory board . The CDU and the Neue Liste Struth (NLS) are represented in it. In the local elections in 2011, the CDU obtained a majority of the votes and thus had a majority in the local advisory board. Jürgen Fliedner (NLS) was the mayor until 2016. After the recent local elections, Struth no longer has a local council because the CDU's election proposal - another group of voters or party did not submit a proposal for election - contained fewer competitions than seats on the local council.
