Susanne Hochuli (born August 26, 1965 ; resident in Reitnau ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ). From 2009 to 2016 she was a member of the government of the Canton of Aargau .

biography

Hochuli was born as the second oldest of four children to a farmer married couple. After graduating from high school , she trained as a kindergarten teacher, but soon switched to journalism . For two years she worked as an editor for the Berner Zeitung . From 1990 she worked again on her parents' farm in Reitnau, but also had a part-time job for Swiss television . She also trained as a qualified SV-HPR riding teacher. Since taking over her parents' farm in 1994 and switching to organic farming, she has worked as a farmer and riding instructor.

On November 30, 2008, she was elected to the government council in Aargau with 70,751 votes for four years. She had previously been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau since 2004 . She was head of the “Health and Social Affairs” department in the government council. On March 28, 2012, she was elected Landammann by the government council for the 2012/2013 term of office . Also in 2016 she was Mrs. Landammann. She did not run for the general renewal elections in 2016.

In 2017 Hochuli was elected President of the Foundation for Patient Protection and in 2018 President of the Board of Trustees of Greenpeace Switzerland .

Hochuli has a grown daughter and lives in Reitnau.
