Sven Müller (born April 4, 1980 in Burgau ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

societies

In his youth he played for his hometown club TSV Burgau before he moved to TSV 1860 Munich via TSG Thannhausen . From 1998 to 2000 he played for FC Augsburg before moving to VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga . Under coach Wolfgang Wolf , VfL had not only become a fixture in the Bundesliga since 1998, but also qualified for European competitions. Müller made his first appearance in the Bundesliga on the 16th matchday of the 2000/01 season in a 2-1 away win in Frankfurt. In this season he was used by Wolf 16 times in Bundesliga games and scored two goals, but could not fight for a regular place. This changed little for him in the following three Bundesliga rounds, Müller played a total of 50 league games (3 goals) with the "Wolves", but only completed a few of them over the full playing time. For Müller, the greatest sporting success with VfL was reaching the UI Cup final in summer 2003.

On January 9, 2004, he moved one class lower to 1. FC Nürnberg , with whom the right-winger returned to the Bundesliga that same year. His coach at the Franconians was again Wolfgang Wolf. Under him, Müller was set as a regular player in the 2004/05 season and thus had a large share in the club's relegation. This was followed by a mixed premier league season 2005/06 , in which he was rarely used after the coach change in October 2005 under Hans Meyer . Therefore, when his contract expired at the end of the season, he moved to the 2nd division for 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where he signed a two-year contract. After an unsatisfactory 2007/08 season , the Palatinate no longer planned on the defensive with Müller: Under the new coach Milan Šašić he was no longer used in the second division team of FCK in 2008/09. Müller therefore decided to change clubs again in January 2009, went to third division club FC Erzgebirge Aue and stood 19 times for the violets in the second half of the 2008/09 season , who finished 12th at the end of the season. In the 2009/10 season Müller was only part of the regular staff under the new coach Rico Schmitt , he only made four of his 25 league appearances over the full season. At the end of the round, FC Erzgebirge celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga as runner-up, but Müller only saw the season finale as a spectator, as he had seen the red card two game days before the end of the round after being violated in a catch-up game.

For the 2010/11 season , Müller changed clubs again and signed a one-year contract with the second division club FSV Frankfurt with the option of another season. In the first competitive game for the Bornheimers, the cup game against SC Paderborn (2-0), Müller scored his first goal for his new employer. Under coach Hans-Jürgen Boysen he was one of the FSV's regular eleven and mostly plays on the right wing. His contract with FSV Frankfurt was extended after he had played more than 20 second division games for the Bornheimer in his first season. In the 2011/12 season, Müller was in the starting line-up for the first few games, and during the course of the season, partly due to injuries, but less and less, he finally stopped playing after the winter break. His contract with FSV, which expired at the end of the season, was not extended. From September 2012 to the end of June 2016, Müller played in his place of birth at the lower-class TSV Burgau , then he ended his career.

National team

In 2003 and 2004, Sven Müller played a total of four times in the 2006 team , the DFB's perspective team .
