Swingin 'Fireballs is a jazz and swing band from Bremen . The Hamburger Abendblatt called them “Germany's best swing jazz musician”.

The Swingin 'Fireballs are based on the American entertainment of the 50s and 60s in the style of Frank Sinatra , Dean Martin or Louis Prima . All arrangements are written by pianist Joachim Refardt.

The musicians of the Swingin 'Fireballs have played in different bands and orchestras (e.g. James Last , Joe Cocker , Paul Anka , Peter Herbolzheimer , Udo Lindenberg , René Kollo , Schleswig-Holstein State Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic State Orchestra Bremen, musicals such as Starlight Express , Dirty Dancing , I've never been to New York , Sister Act , Rocky , Love Never Dies , Aladdin and Beyond the Horizon ).

In 1999 the pianist Joachim Refardt and the saxophonist Volker Bruder founded the Swingin 'Fireballs. The band has now played over 1000 concerts in Germany, Europe and China. The highlight was a joint performance with the Count Basie Orchestra in May 2004 in Hanover .

The Swingin 'Fireballs recorded the title Papa Loves Werder in 2004 for the Werder Bremen football club . Jürgen L. Born is a soloist on the trombone . The title was published on the double CD Lebenslang Grün-Weiß . Your own arrangement is based on the Billy May arrangement from Papa Loves Mambo .

At the end of 2005 a collaboration with the Dutch singer Greetje Kauffeld started . In autumn 2006, the record label Mons Records released a joint double CD with Christmas songs in swing style.

In 2009, the Swingin 'Fireballs recorded a total of seven titles for Leander Haussmann's film " Dinosaurs - You look old against us! " The score was composed by James Last , who also directed the studio recordings.

On November 10, 2009, a couple appeared on the American television show "So you think you can dance (Season 6)" produced by the Fox Broadcasting Company to the Swingin 'Fireballs recording of I wanna be like you (CD Showtime from 2004 ) danced.

In October 2010, the Swingin 'Fireballs traveled to China as part of a delegation from Federal Council President Jens Böhrnsen . The highlights of the trip were the musical design of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of German unity in the German Embassy in Beijing as well as the opening concert of the Nine Gates Jazz Festival.

At the jazz trade fair jazzahead in April 2014, the new CD "Swingcredible!" officially presented.

The saxophonist Matthias Schinkopf was named the best instrumental soloist of the year by the German Pop Foundation in 2017 .
