The Swiss-German-Dixie Corporation (sgdc) is a since existing under this name since 1978 Swiss - German jazz - band .
The formation recorded a total of six albums. Dani Felber ’s Big Band celebrated the 25th anniversary of the band with radio presenter Max Wirz († 2016) as MC , and they also played recordings by Glenn Miller . Felber also played as a guest soloist in the formation. Among other things, the Swiss-German-Dixie-Corporation could be seen at the 11th World Band Festival Lucerne .
Bandleader, clarinetist and saxophonist is Kurt Lauer from Kreuzlingen , who comes from Germany and is naturalized in Switzerland . He is also an artist . German band members are the trumpeter Roland Wohlhüter alias "Don Rolando" and the banjo player and singer Walter Vocke, both of whom are retired teachers. The jazz drummer Flavio Ferrari , who is also active in other Swiss bands, is on the drums . Sousaphonist Albert Gabriel alias "Don Alberto" and trombonist Daniel Kobler are the newest members of the band.
All six band members received honorary citizenship of the city of New Orleans before the turn of the millennium .
