from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kurt Lauer (born January 11, 1945 in Radolfzell am Bodensee , Germany) is a painter and jazz musician living in Kreuzlingen , Switzerland .

Life

Lauer completed his training as a surveying technician. He has been painting since 1958 and went to Switzerland in 1963. He has been a full-time painter since 1974.

Villa Raichle

Since May 1968 he had a small studio in Seeburg Castle for several years . His studio has been in the Villa Raichle for many years. Ernst Hunkeler wrote in the St. Galler Tagblatt in 2014 that his painting was described by a laudator as "Lauerism". He went on to say that in principle it was an emergency solution for the speaker, "albeit an ingenious one: Kurt Lauer's painting cannot be tucked away in any drawer, it is unique - just Laueristic." Lauerism could be understood as perfecting surrealism .

Kurt Lauer played clarinet in the 1970s with the Konstanz band Halleluja Ramblers , which released an album in 1974 on MPS Records . Together with his bandmates Daniel-Pierre Zwick (clarinet, saxophone) and Helmut Meier ( banjo ) as well as with Ralph Hirs ( baritone saxophone ) he also performed with his Kurt Lauer Saxo Group .

Today he is the band leader, clarinetist and saxophonist of the Swiss-German-Dixie-Corporation , which was founded in 1978. The fan club of the Swiss-German-Dixie-Corporation has 1229 members (as of July 22, 2018). In Kreuzlingen he was a co-founder of the “JazzMeile” club, where he was president from 2012 to 2015 and is now honorary president.

Honors
