As a Swiss Fistball (SF) of the official throughout Switzerland Fistball game operation is referred to since January 1 of 2008. The body responsible for game operations (Swiss Fistball Association) has been the Central Board Swiss Fistball (ZV-SF) since then. It is the umbrella organization of the Swiss fistball clubs and organizes the sport of fistball throughout Switzerland . Before it was renamed, the association was called the 'Swiss Fistball Commission (FAKO-CH)'. As such, it was founded on April 26, 1962.

In Switzerland, the club is responsible for playing in the national league A and B for men, women and youngsters, responsible for the national teams (men , women, U21, U18 male and U18 female) and manages referees and training . The association is since 1 January 2020 the 1st League East with the regions 1: St. Gallen / Appenzell Outer Rhodes / Appenzell Inner Rhodes / Grisons , 2: Thurgau , 3: Zurich North and South and the 1st League West with the Regions 4: Uri / Schwyz / Zug / Zurich / Lucerne / Obwalden / Nidwalden / Glarus , 5: Aargau , 6: Basel-Land / Basel-Stadt 7: Solothurn , 8: Bern / Freiburg / Wallis divided. The supporting associations of Swiss Fistball are the Swiss Gymnastics Association (STV) , Sport Union Switzerland (SUS) and the sports association SATUS Switzerland .

Championships

Swiss champions of the 2019 season are on the field of SVD Diepoldsau for men and TSV Jona for women. In the 2019/20 season, FG Elgg-Ettenhausen for men and SVD Diepoldsau for women were in Hal.le. The 2019 cup winner was STV Wigoltingen .

International

Swiss Faustball is affiliated to the International Fistball Association (IFA) and regularly takes part in international competitions with its national teams. In return, Switzerland has already hosted world championships (men; 1979 in St. Gallen , 1999 in Olten SO and women; 2006 in Jona SG ) and European championships (last time 2010 in Ermatingen TG ). The individual fistball clubs in Switzerland also regularly take part in tournaments such as the European or IFA Cup abroad.
