Sylvain White (born February 12, 1975 in Paris ) is a French film director .

life and career

Sylvain White was born in Paris in 1975. His parents are a former American professional basketball player and a French flight attendant . He graduated from the University of Paris and received a scholarship to the private school Pomona College in Los Angeles .

In 2002, White directed the short film Quiet . In 2004 he worked as a director on the drama Trois 3: The Escort , which was released on direct-to-DVD . White was then hired to direct I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer , a 2006 horror film and part three of the last summer franchise. The following year he released Stomp the Yard with Columbus Short , Meagan Good and Ne-Yo . Sylvain White received an Image Awards nomination for the film . In 2010, The Losers was an adaptation of the vertigo comic strip of the same name , an imprint of DC Comics , for which Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt wrote the script. This comic adaptation is also an ensemble film with Jeffrey Dean Morgan , Idris Elba , Chris Evans , Columbus Short, Óscar Jaenada and Zoe Saldana in the leading roles. In 2013 he worked on the Franco- Belgian thriller Choral des Todes with Gérard Depardieu . Since then he has worked as a director on various television series.
