content

While hitchhiking, the sculptor Eric Vonk met Olga, with whom he fell madly in love. Shortly after getting married, however, Olga runs away with a rich American. After a few years, Eric learns that she is now a prostitute and is suffering from an incurable brain tumor.

Awards

The film was nominated for an Oscar in 1974 in the category “Best Foreign Film” and was awarded the “ Golden Calf ” at the Dutch Film Festival in 2000 for “Best Dutch Film of the Century” .

criticism

The lexicon of international films assesses the sex film as a "not untalented, often shocking, sometimes disgusting mixture of blatant sex, indulgent sadism and melodrama, with stunted approaches to satire" and advises against it.
