Tadeusz Pikus (born September 1, 1949 in Zabiele , Powiat Moniecki , Poland ) is a Polish clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Drohiczyn .

Life

Tadeusz Pikus entered the seminary of the Archdiocese of Warsaw in 1975 and studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Catholic Theological Academy in Warsaw . He received on June 7 in 1981 by the auxiliary bishop in Warsaw , Jerzy Modzelewski , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Picus became vicar in the Holy Family parish in Jaktorów . In 1983 he was sent to Spain for further studies . At the University of Navarra Tadeusz Pikus was 1985 doctor of theology doctorate . He then became the private secretary of the Archbishop of Warsaw, Cardinal Józef Glemp . From 1988 to 1990 Tadeusz Pikus was prefect at the seminary in Warsaw. In 1990 he was sent to Moscow and became a pastor for the Poles living there . In 1992 Tadeusz Pikus became professor of fundamental theology at the Catholic Theological Academy in Warsaw and at the seminary in Warsaw.

On 24 April 1999. appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Lysinia and auxiliary bishop in Warsaw. The Archbishop of Warsaw, Cardinal Józef Glemp, donated him episcopal ordination on May 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Włocławek , Bronisław Dembowski , and the Bishop of Warsaw-Praga , Kazimierz Romaniuk .

On March 29, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Drohiczyn. The inauguration took place on May 25 of the same year.

On June 17, 2019, Francis accepted Tadeusz Pikus' resignation.
