Taeq Squashcolombia PSA Open 2016

The Taeq Squashcolombia PSA Open 2016 took place from February 16 to 20, 2016 in Cartagena , Colombia . The men's squash tournament , which took place for the first time, was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA 100 category .

In the final of the two top seeded players, world number one Mohamed Elshorbagy beat Omar Mosaad 11: 9, 7:11, 11: 3 and 11: 9. It was Elshorbagy's 19th title on the PSA World Tour .

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Andrés Herrera a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 115,000.
