The Tahiti Tamourés were a German studio vocal group and hit formation. It was the first girl group in Germany. The name of the group is derived from Tamouré , a dance from the Tiki culture that is cultivated in Tahiti .

history

Between 1963 and 1964, the Tahiti Tamourés recorded four singles with Polydor . Members were lead singer Doris Wegener , choir singer Charlotte Marian (born February 16, 1937 in Obernburg as Katja Bischoff ) and Monika Grimm (former duet partner of Ruth Brandin ).
