from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Taleb Nariman Nematpour (born September 19, 1984 ) is an Iranian wrestler . He became world champion in the Greco-Roman style middleweight in 2013 .

Career

Taleb Nariman Nematpour started wrestling as a teenager in 2000. He is a member of a wrestling club in Tehran and is trained mainly by his brother Shahab Nematpour. He prefers the Greco-Roman style. He is a student and always started as an adult in the middleweight division, the weight class up to 84 kg body weight.

Since 2006 it has been used by the Iranian Wrestling Association at international championships and important international tournaments. For the course of his international career, it must be taken into account that wrestling is a national sport in Iran and that the competition there is therefore immensely fierce and that only absolute top talent manage to qualify for the Iranian team at all. Taleb Nariman Nematpour succeeded in this. In 2008 he took part in the Asian Championships in Jeju Island / South Korea for the first time and came in second behind Shingo Matsumoto from Japan. In 2009 he was Asian champion in Pattaya, defeating Andrei Samochin from Kazakhstan in the final. In 2010 he succeeded in the well-filled World Cup in Baku, where he left such good wrestlers as Schalwa Gadabadse from Georgia and Oleg Schokalow from Russia behind.

In 2010 he also took part in a world championship for the first time. However, these championships in Moscow ended with a fiasco for him. The Israeli Denis Nickolajew was drawn as an opponent for his first fight. For political reasons he was not allowed to compete against this wrestler by order of his team management. He had to fake an injury and was eliminated early. Ultimately, he ended up in 31st place. As a consolation he was allowed to compete at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in November 2010 and won there ahead of Lee See-yeol from South Korea, Alchazur Osdijew from Kazakhstan and Janarbek Kenjejew from Kyrgyzstan.

In 2011 he won the World Cup in Minsk, leaving Saman Tahmasebi, Azerbaijan, Alim Selimow , Belarus and Alan Chugajew , Russia, behind. In 2012 he tried to qualify for the Olympic Games in London. But he didn't succeed. However, in October 2012 in Kuortane / Finland he became the university world champion ahead of Oleg Schokalow and Ahmet Yildirim from Turkey.

In 2013, Taleb Nariman Nematpour came 3rd at the Asian Cup in New Delhi. In the semifinals he lost a gossamer against Rustam Assakalow from Uzbekistan. At the 2013 World Championships in Budapest, he got the big hit. With victories over Alexander Brandon Bravo, Venezuela, Javid Hamsarow, Belarus, Nursultan Tursijew, Kazakhstan, Damian Janikowski , Poland and his former Iranian teammate, Saman Tahmasebi , who moved to Azerbaijan , he became world champion for the first time.

In May 2014 Taleb Nariman Nematpour was convicted of doping (epi-trenbolone) at the World Cup (team tournament) in Tehran. He was then banned from all competitions by the World Wrestling Federation FILA until June 4, 2016.
