Tamara Bach

Tamara Bach (born January 18, 1976 in Limburg ad Lahn ) is a German writer .

Life

Tamara Bach was born in Limburg an der Lahn in 1976 and grew up in Ludwigshöhe, Rhineland-Palatinate. She received critical support from her German teacher at the time, Peter Grosz . In 1993 and 1995 she took part in the renowned Young Authors' Meeting, where she was also awarded. After graduating from high school in 1995, an au pair stay in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. In 1996 she began to study in Mainz, after three semesters she moved to Berlin in 1997, where she has lived since then. She studied German and English for teaching at the Free University and graduated in early 2006. In addition to her studies, she worked for television and developed youth plays.

Martian girl is her first book. In 2002 it was awarded the Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize as the best unpublished manuscript, and in 2004 the German Youth Literature Prize. She also wrote Busfahrt mit Kuhn , which was also nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. In 2007 her debut was published as an audio book version, read in by Sandra Hüller .

For Now is Here she also won the LUCHS of the year 2007 (November). Her book What's Left of Summer was Toad of the Month in April 2012.

With her children's drama design The Chicken Lies , she was in the final selection of the Berlin Children's Theater Prize 2019.
