Tamara Timofejewna Kazantseva

Tamara timofeyevna Kasanzewa born Tamara timofeyevna Tereshchenko , ( Russian Тамара Тимофеевна Казанцева , maiden name Russian Тамара Тимофеевна Терещенко * 8. May 1934 in Kryvyi Rih ) is a Soviet - Russian geologist .

Life

Kazantseva experienced the German occupation during the German-Soviet war . Because of the higher scholarship she studied at the Krywyj Rih Mining Technical Center with distinction in 1954 and then at the Krywyj Rih Mining Institute with distinction in 1959 as a geologist. She married her fellow student Yuri Vasilyevich Kazantsev from Bashkortostan .

Since Kazantseva was able to choose her job because of her graduation with honors, she went to Siberia with her husband and her six-month-old son because of the more favorable prospects . She worked in the village Kulun 600 km north of Minussinsk as engineering -Geologin the Uzhur - Exploration Expedition of Krasnoyarsk Geology administration. Soon she became head of the Laboratory for Petrography and Mineralogy . With her husband, who led an exploration group, she came every summer to geologically undeveloped areas in the taiga and in the Kuznetsk Alatau .

In 1965, Kasanzewa became a group leader in the Sterlitamaker Exploration Office of the Bashneft oil company . From May to the end of September, exploration work was carried out in the Urals with daily walking distances of 15–20 km. In 1970 she successfully defended her dissertation at the Moscow Institute of Geology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR, since 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)) with the results of her studies of the Kraka mountain in the southern Urals for the doctorate to be a candidate for the mineralogical sciences. For this present mineralogist Sturges W. Bailey translated Alexander Woldemarowitsch Peiwe Kasanzewas lecture into English .

Since 1975 Kazantseva has been working in the Geological Institute of the Urals Science Center UNZ in Sverdlovsk (since 1991 Yekaterinburg) of the AN-SSSR. In 2001 she became head of the laboratory there.

Kasanzewa's research area is geotectonics . She succeeded in clarifying the allochthonous origin of the igneous rocks of the Urals. It proved the polycyclicity of the Urals in the Paleozoic . Their work contributed significantly to the understanding of the earth's crust development .

1985 defended Kasanzewa successfully their dissertation for promotion to Doctor of mineralogical sciences. In 1991 she was elected a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan .
