From May to the end of September, exploration work was carried out in the Urals with daily walking distances of 15–20 km. In 1970 she successfully defended her dissertation at the Moscow Institute of Geology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR, since 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)) with the results of her studies of the Kraka mountain in the southern Urals for the doctorate to be a candidate for the mineralogical sciences. For this present mineralogist Sturges W. Bailey translated Alexander Woldemarowitsch Peiwe Kasanzewas lecture into English .
