Taras Wolodymyrowytsch Mychalyk ( Ukrainian Тарас Володимирович Михалик; * 28. October 1983 in Ljubeschiw , Oblast Volyn region ) is a Ukrainian football player.

Career

At the age of 18, Mychalyk joined the Ukrainian second division club FK CSKA Kiev . In his four years there, he was a regular player for the most part, scoring ten goals in 89 games. In 2005 he was signed by Dynamo Kiev , but initially played on loan for half a year at FC Hoverla-Zakarpattya Uzhhorod . After his return in January 2006, he made under coach Anatoliy Demyanenko not the final breakthrough in the starting line-up and occasionally played as a defensive midfielder.

On July 10, 2007, he helped his team with two goals for the Ukrainian Supercup, which Dynamo Kiev ultimately won on penalties.

When Kiev got a new coach with Yuri Pavlovich Sjomin in 2007 , Mychalyk increasingly established himself as a regular player in central defense. In the 2009 winter transfer window, the head of defense was associated with a move to AC Milan. Ultimately, Mychalyk extended his contract, which actually expired in the summer of 2010, to 2013. In April 2009, he suffered a meniscus injury that will put him out of action for half a year.

In August 2006 he played for the Ukrainian senior team for the first time in a 6-0 win over Azerbaijan . He also took part with the U-21 selection of his country in the U-21 European Championship in 2006 , where he and his team reached the final as a regular player, which they lost 3-0 to the Netherlands .
