Cruzeiro EC

Murilo Cerqueira started his career in the junior division of Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte . Here he made the leap into the professional squad in 2017. Cerqueira got his first appearance for the A-squad of Cruzeiro in the Primeira Liga do Brasil in 2017 . In the away game against Joinville EC on March 21, 2017, he was in the starting line-up. Cerqueira played his first game in the Série A on June 9, 2017 in the away game against EC Bahia . In the game he came on in the 32nd minute for Ramón Ábila . In his first season as a professional, Cerqueira won his first title with the Copa do Brasil 2017 . Here he played five missions. He didn't score a goal.

In December 2017 it was announced that Benfica Lisbon was interested in Murilo Cerqueira. Benfica should be ready to bid for the player for five million euros. In October of that year, Atalanta Bergamo had already offered four million, which was rejected. On April 1, 2016, Cerqueira was nominated for the preselection of the squad for the Brazilian U-20s for the U-20 South American Football Championship 2017 . However, it was then not considered in the appointment for the actual squad.

At Toulon Tournament for youth players in 2019 was part of the team Cerqueira. To win the title in the competition, he appeared in four games.
