Tarjei Viken Skarlund (born November 6, 1978 in Ålesund ) is a Norwegian beach volleyball player .

Career

Skarlund took in 1999 with Ronny Berntsen at the World Cup in Marseille in part, but not make it past the last place. After playing a few tournaments with changing partners, he formed a new duo with Jarle Huseby in 2002 , which managed a few fifth places in satellite tournaments. In 2004 he was ninth with Kjell Arne Gøranson at the Open tournaments in Stavanger and Stare Jabłonki .

With his new partner Jørre André Kjemperud he lost to the German duo Dieckmann / Reckermann in the third round of the 2005 World Cup and was eliminated by the US-Americans Gibb / Metzger . At the 2006 European Championships Skarlund / Kjemperud lost to the Germans Brink / Dieckmann and the Spaniards Herrera / Mesa . The next year they did not win in the preliminary round of the World Cup in Gstaad . In 2008 they were able to book some top ten placements and took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing , where they missed a victory against Klemperer / Koreng despite three match points.

At the Dubai Open, Skarlund competed for the first time with his current partner Martin Spinnangr . In front of a home crowd in Stavanger, the new duo reached the first main round of the 2009 World Cup in third place in the group , in which there was a defeat against the Swiss Heuscher / Heyer . The two Norwegians reached the final of the Grand Slam in the same place next year. At the 2011 World Cup in Rome , however, they could not record a victory. At the end of their career together, Skarlund / Spinnangr finished ninth at the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
