Tatum Beatrice O'Neal (born November 5, 1963 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress .

Life

Tatum O'Neal grew up in Los Angeles and attended the Hollywood Professional School , which she had to leave early. Her parents, actors Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore , married in 1963 and divorced in 1967. Her paternal grandfather was screenwriter Charles O'Neal . For her first feature film, Paper Moon (1973), at the side of her father, she received an Oscar at the age of ten . This made her the youngest ever Oscar winner to be awarded a regular prize, and became the best-paid child star of the 1970s.

In 1982 she was in a relationship with Michael Jackson for a short time . In 1984 she met tennis player John McEnroe and married him on August 1, 1986 in Oyster Bay , New York . The marriage resulted in two sons and a daughter. The marriage ended in divorce in November 1992. In 1996 a pill addiction became known, which O'Neal had treated. In 1998, John McEnroe received custody of their children. In 2004 her autobiography was published under the title A Paper Life (in Germany under the title And my life begins now , 2005), in which she describes, among other things, the fight against her heroin addiction. In 2006/2007 she played the lead role in the series Wicked Wicked Games, the psychotic and vengeful Blythe Hunter. In 2008, O'Neal was arrested while trying to buy cocaine near her home .
