Telephone code (Switzerland)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Telephone codes for Switzerland

This article covers the current telephone numbers in Switzerland .

An area code (in the real sense) no longer exists. All telephone connections across Switzerland have had a nine-digit number since April 1, 2007 (the 0 in front is not counted as it does not belong to the actual number), after the 01 area code was removed as the last region in Zurich . The latter had replaced the 051 , as previously only eight-digit numbers (including area code) were possible. The preceding 0 is functionally no longer a traffic elimination number; However, it should be omitted for calls with the international code ( +41 for Switzerland) .

The elimination number for international calls in Switzerland is 00 . If it is possible to write + in a device , this is converted to 00 inside the device .
