Telesphore George Mpundu
Telesphore George Mpundu (born May 21, 1947 in Kopeka ) is a Zambian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Lusaka .
Life
Telesphore George Mpundu was ordained a priest on December 17, 1972 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Mbala on March 7, 1987 . The former bishop of Mbala, Adolf Fürstenberg MAfr , donated him episcopal ordination on June 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Elias White Mutale , Archbishop of Kasama , and Adrian Mung'andu , Archbishop of Lusaka.
On October 1, 2004, the Pope appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of Lusaka. When Medardo Joseph Mazombwe retired on October 28, 2006, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Lusaka.
Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on January 30, 2018.
