Terlago ( Eng . Terlach ; in the local dialect: Terlác ) is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Vallelaghi in the province of Trento in the Trentino-Alto Adige region .
geography
The place is about 6.5 kilometers northwest of Trento at an altitude of 456 m slm on Lake Terlago below the Paganella massif. To the northeast, Lago Santo and Lago di Lamar are two other smaller lakes directly above the Adige Valley .
history
Terlago was an independent municipality until 2015 and merged with the municipalities of Vezzano and Padergnone on January 1, 2016 to form the municipality of Vallelaghi. The districts of Covelo, Monte Terlago, Maso Ariol and Maso Travolt also belonged to the municipality. The neighboring communities were Andalo , Fai della Paganella , Lavis , Molveno , Trient , Vezzano and Zambana . The community belonged to the valley community Comunità della Valle dei Laghi .
Naming
The name Terlago is derived from the Latin inter lacus (between the lakes).
