Terrance Eugene Ferguson (born May 17, 1998 ) is an American basketball player . He has been under contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA since 2017 .

career

Ferguson played basketball at Prime Prep Academy in Dallas , Texas , which was transferred to Advanced Preparatory International in September 2015. Thanks to his strong performance and great development opportunities, Ferguson has received offers of scholarships from well-known universities. In August 2015, he announced his decision to move to the University of Alabama . However, he did not sign an official agreement with the university, in March 2016 he withdrew his commitment to Alabama and announced a few weeks later that he wanted to enroll at the University of Arizona . In June 2016, Ferguson also revised this decision. Instead of playing at university level, he preferred to take the plunge into professional business and find accommodation with a club outside of his home country in order to then  sign up for the 2017 NBA draft .

Ferguson was signed by the Adelaide 36ers from the Australian NBL in late June 2016 . In the 2016 season he booked 30 appearances for Adelaide and scored an average of 4.6 points. In the 2017 NBA Draft, Oklahoma City Thunder secured the rights to Ferguson in 21st place in the first selection round. At the end of July 2017, the contractual agreement between the club and the player was officially announced. In his first NBA game year 2017/18, Ferguson was on the field in 61 games and averaged 3.2 points per use.
