Reviews
- Lexicon of international film : “In the form of an exciting, but also nerve-racking genre film, the production deals with a dehumanized world that is dominated by sheer greed for sensation. The horror is not represented as a demonic fascination, but in all its repulsive facets. A shocking film, despite the relatively reserved images. "
- Prisma Online: “Alejandro Amenábar, who was only 23 when the film was made, made a sensational debut film that reflects the interaction between violence in the media and voyeurism . He illustrated the fear and fascination of media violence in the style of a sophisticated genre thriller. "
Awards
- At the Goya Awards in 1997 , the film received seven awards, including the Best Film of the Year category. Amenábar was invited with his film to the Berlinale 1996 , where the film was presented to a German audience for the first time within the Panorama section.
