The Teutzensee is a small, natural lake in the Schorfheide in northern Brandenburg in the area of ​​the Groß Dölln district (town of Templin , Uckermark district ). It is part of the Bollwinwiesen / Großer Gollinsee nature reserve and is therefore in the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve .

Geographical location and hydrography

The lake lies within the boundaries of the village of Bebersee , which was incorporated into Groß Dölln in 1960. Since the incorporation of Groß Dölln into the city of Templin, Bebersee has been part of the municipality of Groß Dölln. The next places are: approx. 800 m east-southeast of the Döllner Heide part of the municipality located on Lake Kleindölln (district Groß Schönebeck , municipality Schorfheide , district Barnim (Brandenburg), and approx. 1 km west-northwest the residential area Birkenhof in the district Groß Dölln of the city of Templin).

The lake is 3.85 hectares and its water level is approx. 54  m above sea level. NHN . It has no tributaries, the outflow is via a small river to the Döllnfließ . The shoreline is only partially forested. There is no paved path leading to the lake.

history

The lake is mentioned for the first time in 1581 in the Zehdenick office's inheritance register . At that time it was called Deutzschen (lake) . 1590 the form Teutzen is found , 1788 Teutzen-See . The name is derived from an Old Polish / Old Sorbian basic form * Tučn- to the adjective * tučn- fat, nutritious, meaning water rich in fish.
