The Band is a 2009 Australian feature film . It was directed by Anna Brownfield , who also wrote the script . Amy Cater can be seen in the lead role .

action

The singer and guitarist Jimmy leaves his band Gutter Filth to start a solo career. The band hires Jimmy's ex-girlfriend Candy, who broke up with him after catching him cheating , to replace him . While on tour with Gutter Filth , Candy first mourns Jimmy, but is then comforted by the lesbian band manager Jennifer, with whom she later starts a relationship.

While Gutter Filth climbed the top of the music charts with one of her songs , Jimmy's career came to an end. He meets Candy in a bar and tries to hook up with her again. She pretends that she is interested and wants to have sex with him in the toilet. In truth, she finally destroys him by giving a press photographer a tip, whereupon she takes pictures of Jimmy masturbating with his pants down .

The Band was released in Australia in 2009. It was released on DVD in Germany on April 26, 2013 . At 72 minutes, the German DVD version is 18 minutes shorter than the US version, as several pornographic scenes have been shortened or have been completely omitted.

In 2010, The Band was recognized at the Feminist Porn Awards in the “Hottest Feature Film” category. In 2019 Anna Brownfield received the Feminist Porn Film Award Europe for her film .
