The psychologist Dr. Jennifer Stillman moves from New York to the small town of Sierra Vista. As soon as she arrives, she has problems with the local police. She works in a school there. The school principal Ed Turner soon criticized her treatment methods.

The psychologist befriends the nurse Della Divelbuss. The other townspeople are hostile to her.

Stillman treats the boy Ben Miller, whose mother was killed. Ben thinks he is the son of an alien.

David Cornelius wrote in the Hollywood Bitchslap that the thriller lacks tension.

Richard Scheib wrote in The SF, Horror and Fantasy Film Review that the director failed to create atmosphere. He only praised one of the special effects. The film is a remake of the horror film The Last Seven from 1955.

Awards

Bobby Edner was nominated for the Young Artist Award in 2002. The film also received a 2002 Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award nomination .
