Mark Vargo

Mark Vargo (born May 15, 1954 in Alexandria , Virginia ) is an American special effects artist and cameraman .

Life

Vargo was a member of Industrial Light & Magic from 1979 to 1983 and helped with the special effects that earned the studio four Academy Awards during that time . For the special effects of the film Ghostbusters - Die Geisterjäger (1984) he was nominated together with his colleagues John Bruno , Richard Edlund and Chuck Gaspar .

In his career, which continues to this day, he has worked on over 50 productions as a cameraman and as a special effects artist. From 1997 he switched to the camera exclusively.

Since May 1, 2018, he has been teaching camera work at Florida State University in Tallahassee , Florida as an Associate Professor.
