The Fades is a British mystery - horror series of Jack Thorne that for the British television channel BBC Three was produced.

action

The teenager Paul Roberts is an outsider at his high school. What is much worse for him, however, is that night after night he has nightmares about characters from the afterlife. He quickly realizes that they are more than just dreams. He turns to his only friend Mac and the therapist Dr. Tremlett, but these can't help him. One day he meets Neil Valentine, who explains to him that he has the gift of seeing Fades . The fades are spirits who have been denied ascent into the spirit world. That's why they wander haphazardly around the world. For most people they are imperceptible, but touching people causes them pain. Neil is a member of the Angelics , who have taken on the task of watching the fades and averting conflict.

Paul's antagonist John - also known as Geist Polus - fell in the war, became a fade and had to watch for decades as his wife led an unhappy life and finally passed away with her wrists cut. John put himself under her arm, enduring the pain the dripping blood was causing him, and so inadvertently discovered that Fades can return to the world of the living by ingesting human blood and flesh. In addition, they are then immortal.

Determined to make mankind atone for the suffering he has suffered, John brings more and more fades back into the world. He doesn't care that more and more murders are necessary for this. Paul realizes that only he can stop John from destroying humanity. Although it was in his unearthly power to destroy John, he seeks a way to redeem him.
