action

The Game Changers tells the story of James Wilks , elite special forces trainer and winner of The Ultimate Fighter , on his journey to find an answer to the question of whether adequate protein intake, strength and optimal health are derived from animal products. In the course of a serious injury, Wilks began to research which form of nutrition would be most beneficial for the healing process. He came across a study of Roman gladiators in which it was found that the gladiators ate very little or no meat. Wilks was not convinced by the study. He was convinced that animal proteins are essential for building muscles, maintaining energy levels and healing injuries. He eventually met with the researchers who made these discoveries. When he returned home, he was convinced that the gladiators ate mostly plant-based foods during training and competitions. Shocked by this new knowledge, he started his own research. He has toured four continents and met dozens of the world's strongest, fastest, and toughest top athletes, as well as leading nutrition, exercise, anthropology, and health experts. What he learned and discovered in the process changed his relationship to food and his definition of true strength.
