Melody Wilder loses her job one day and is abandoned by her boyfriend. On the same day she found out from her doctor Dr. Murray that she has cancer and cannot have an operation. You have about a month left to live.

She rents a large apartment and buys expensive furniture, befriends the employees of the supplier companies Roscoe Wasz and Cookie. She spends a lot of time playing the guitar she wanted as a child.

Reviews

Duane Byrge wrote in The Hollywood Reporter on January 21, 2008 that the script displayed "psychological wisdom" but suffered from narrative weaknesses. Amy Redford's directing is "very clever" and enables the film to appeal to viewers of the mainstream films. The "smart modulated" representation of Saffron Burrows won the hearts of the audience.

Justin Chang wrote in Variety magazine on January 19, 2008 that director Amy Redford's film was "inconsistent" but "at times adorable . " The "sensitive" portrayal of Saffron Burrows adds to the charm of the film.
