action

Since she lost her baby, Emilia (Natalie Portman) has been struggling with herself and the world. After studying law, she found a job in a New York law firm and her future husband, Jack ( Scott Cohen ). This was still married to Carolyn (Lisa Kudrow). After the wedding of Emilia and Jack, happiness seemed perfect when their daughter Isabell was born. However, she died at the age of three days.

Emilia’s relationship with her precocious stepson William ( Charlie Tahan ) is difficult and they are only slowly approaching each other. Williams' mother also tries to keep her son away from Emilia. In addition, Emilia's relationship with her father is very tense. Her father is a respected judge and is divorced after cheating on Emilia's mother several times. Emilia tells her husband that she has a remorse because she may have suffocated her daughter.

During a meeting in Central Park , at which affected families commemorate their children who died young, a conversation with their father escalates. Emilia separates from her husband and breaks off contact with her father. Emilia receives an invitation from Carolyn to come to her practice. There Carolyn explains to Emilia that the pathological finding does not contain any evidence of death from suffocation. Little Isabell died of sudden infant death . This news wakes Emilia so that she faces life and her family again. The film ends with a conversation with William in Central Park about the value of family.

Reviews

“The original title of the film was“ Love and Other Impossible Pursuits ”- and it's far more appropriate than“ The Other Woman ”. Because this drama is not about the other woman, but about fragile human relationships today. Still, some good lines of dialogue and the good acting performances of Natalie Portman and Charlie Tahan cannot hide the fact that "The Other Woman" is an average film. "

“Sudden infantile death and a family close to collapse: The Other Woman is the portrait of an unloved person who has to regain courage. But please with more verve, because the tantalizing staging makes us indifferent to its fate! A documentary film for the hype surrounding Natalie Portman. "
