Theodor Seidenfaden

Theodor Seidenfaden (born January 14, 1886 in Cologne , † August 6, 1979 in Hattingen , Ruhr ) was a German writer .

Life

Theodor Seidenfaden was the son of a farmer . He grew up in Cologne . After attending elementary school , he completed training at the teachers' college in Brühl and then worked as an elementary school teacher in Rövenich from 1906 to 1908 . From 1909 to 1910 studied it music and literature in Cologne and Bonn ; from 1912 he worked as a teacher at the elementary school in Bessenich . From 1915 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier and was seriously wounded. From 1924 to 1931 he was rector of an elementary school in Königshoven , from 1931 to 1934 elementary school rector in Cologne-Riehl and from 1934 to 1949 city ​​school council in Cologne. Seidenfaden was a member of the NSDAP from 1931 to 1932 , but continued to work in National Socialist cultural magazines even after he left the party . From 1951 he was a member of the right-wing extremist Deutsche Kulturwerk Europäische Geist , from 1953 to 1969 as a member of the executive committee.

Theodor Seidenfaden's extensive literary work consists of novels , stories , retelling of German sagas , poems and fictional dialogues between historical personalities. His work is shaped by the author's rejection of modernity and his ultra-conservative Christian mindset.
