Georg Adolph Theodor von Wedderkop (born December 19, 1802 in Malmö , † February 15, 1887 in Oldenburg ) was a German lawyer and writer.

Life

After his parents divorced, Wedderkop grew up with his sister at Hauptman Quaade (presumably Peter Friderich Quaade , since he himself grew up in the Dollrott estate with a chamberlain Wedderkop) in Helsingør . They were the oldest children of their parents. He was confirmed in the Helsingør Marienkirche before he came to his father in Eutin . After studying in Göttingen , Kiel and Uppsala , Wedderkop was initially a regional court assessor in Neuchâtel and then came to the Oldenburg Higher Appeal Court via the regional court (Drosteigericht) and the judiciary . From 1869 to 1873 he worked there together with Ludwig von Wedderkop . He was a member of the upper church council of the Oldenburg regional church .

Wedderkop married Meta von Rumohr, the lower priority of the Preetz monastery in Holstein in 1829 . They had a son Magnus von Wedderkop (1830-1907) and a daughter Cordella von Wedderkop (1841-1883).

After a seven-week trip through Sweden and Denmark in 1841 , he wrote the two-volume text “Pictures from the North”. Theodor von Wedderkop was friends with Hans Christian Andersen and was supposed to translate his fairy tales. However, that did not happen.
