This Girl is a song by the Australian funk or soul trio Cookin 'on 3 Burners and the Australian singer Kylie Auldist . Originally published in 2009, it experienced a revival as a remix by French DJ Kungs and made it to number 1 in the French and German charts in 2016 .

The original Cookin 'on 3 Burners was released as part of the album Soul Messin' released on May 5, 2009 . You can hear the singing of Kylie Auldist, who is instrumental by the members of the trio - e.g. B. by drums and guitar - is accompanied.

Remix

The remix was released on February 19, 2016 as a download. The changes to the original version amount to the almost complete omission of the original instrumental accompaniment, so that only the guitar sounds and Auldist's vocals remain. Accompaniment by trumpets , which make up a large part of the instrumental accompaniment in the song, as well as accompaniment by means of electronic music by Kungs himself. In the music video you can see two young adults who are apparently friends or in love, man and woman, who are watching Moving listeners accordingly, either walking (as in "slow" song passages accompanied by singing) or dancing (in dynamic, fast passages introduced by trumpets and dominated by them) through various backdrops and landscapes.

Kungs ' This Girl Remix reached number one in the official single charts in Germany, Kungs' home country France and Belgium (Wallonia) . The remix achieved top 10 placements in Belgium (Flanders), Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain. In the homeland of Cookin 'on 3 Burners, Australia, the song could only reach number 17.
