Thogotovirus is a genus within the virus family of Orthomyxoviridae . Thogoto virus (correctly Thogoto thogotovirus , en. Thogoto virus , officially Thogoto thogotovirus ) also designates its type species. Thogotoviruses are enveloped viruses with single-stranded RNA of negative polarity as their genome . Thogotoviruses use ticks as vectors as arboviruses and can be reproduced in cells of ticks and vertebrates.

Systematics

The Thogoto virus was first isolated in the Thogoto forest area in Kenya and named after him. The genus Thogotovirus includes the following species and subtypes / isolates:
